Jack LOVES ice cream. He frequently goes to the freezer and says, “i cweam.” On the weekends, it starts around 8 am. He wants ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I can’t blame him, but I also can’t give him that much ice cream!
I found these at Wal-Mart Super Center (it’s the only place I’ve found them so far):
These are genius for several reasons:
1. They are little. About half the size of a normal popsicle, but on a normal sized stick. Perfect for Jack’s chubby little toddler hands to hold onto.
2. They have gelatin in them, which makes them melt slower than usual. Paired with their smaller size, it’s perfect for toddlers. The size and slow melt means a short attention span can still eat the whole thing, taking a few time outs to throw a ball, read a book, whatever, and you don’t end up with a big sticky mess to clean up.
3. Kids love them! Maybe Jack is too little to know that it’s a miniature popsicle and that he’s kind of getting gypped. Maybe he is just so excited to get ice cream he doesn’t care. They come in fun bright colors and shapes and they’re frozen and on a stick so he’s one happy little guy.
You’d think they might cost less, since they’re smaller, but they don’t- about $3.29 for a box of 24 pops, but it’s worth it for his ice cream bilss, and for less sticky mess. Thanks Popsicle!
