Weekend Recap: houses, preschool and baseball

I love weekends and think they should be longer.  This was a good one, that was a nice mix of family time, friend time and fun!

Saturday, we started out day with breakfast out. This isn’t something we do often, because you never know how Jack will behave.  But, he slept in that day and woke up in a fantastic mood so off we went.  I had a Groupon to First Watch, so we tried that and it was delicious!

That afternoon, we looked at a couple of houses.  We are thinking of moving, but it’s a big scary decision. So, for now we like to look at houses and talk in great detail about what to do.  Afterwards, we went to an open house at a preschool we want Jack to attend.  It’s right across the street from my work, so that would be super convenient.  He has to be at least 2 1/2 and potty trained, so it will be a while before he can start there.  He’s on the list though.  Childcare is all about lists.

Saturday evening, we went to a wedding shower for our friends, Elizabeth and John.  The weather was perfect for a night on a gorgous patio, and it was a really fun party.  Jack had a sleepover at Babba and Mimi’s so we could stay out as late as we wanted, which was about 10:30.  Ha, how times have changed!  We had a great night out at the party.

Sunday was a little sleeping in, then some work around the house. My dad came over for a visit, then it was naptime.  When Jack woke up, we headed downtown for the Bedlam baseball game.  We had really great seats, about 5 rows behind home plate.  I stupidly thought Jack would be so excited to watch baseball in person that he would sit in our laps, totally fascinated.  In reality, 1 inning was about all the attention span he had, so we spent most of the game letting him run around the outfield bleachers.  I could have saved a lot of money and bought cheap seats out there. Lesson learned.  He did love to clap for everything- it really didn’t matter which team did something- he clapped and cheered with the rest of the crowd. His favorite part of the game was definitely the Dippin Dots and the popcorn.  We made it back to our seats for another inning before he got bored again, so we decided to pack it up and head home after the 7th inning.  We missed an extra innings win by my team, OSU Cowboys.  I’m sure Chris was glad we left before that.

In all, a great weekend.  Lots of fun stuff going on and I am still wishing for an extra day!

Jack and Chris, checking out the game
