Baby Jack is 8 months old! I can’t believe how fast this time is flying by! He weighs 22 pounds. I don’t know how long he is. He was 26.5″ at his 6 month check-up and 18.5 pounds, so he’s really growing at a rapid pace!
He is so much fun right now. He just “talks” (babbles) and laughs. He can sit up by himself very well- he only falls over sometimes now. He loves his toys, especially an Activity Triangle that has various things to do- he loves to spin and slide things around. And of course, put things in his mouth! He still doesn’t have any teeth. He’s been drooling and chewing on things for weeks, so we keep thinking they’ll pop up anytime, but nothing yet. He moves toys from hand to hand, he can scoot things towards himself and pick them up. He rolls from back to tummy and tummy to back. He’s shown little interest in crawling- he pushes up onto his hands, but that’s about it. He just rolls to whatever he wants.
He eats 2 jars of baby food a day- one at lunch and one at dinner time. He loves to eat! He’s liked all his foods, although peas were his least favorite. He gnaws on crackers and eats Puffs. He is very interested in what Mommy and Daddy are eating and tries to grab it, so we have to watch closely! He enjoyed a pickle one night! He likes to eat fruit in a mesh feeder, particularly oranges and strawberries.
His sleep patterns are still unpredictable. Sometimes he sleeps through the nights, but usually he wakes up one time. Sometimes he can be soothed back to sleep, sometimes he needs a bottle. Occasionally, he wakes up 2-3 times a night but those nights are few and far between. I’m convinced we’re getting there and it won’t be long before he sleeps through the night every night.
He’s a very happy baby. He’s pretty laid back and just overall happy. He fascinated by the simplest things, like a spoon or his hand, and it’s so fascinating to me. He’s a joyous thing in our lives, and we are having a blast watching him play and discover new things. We love him so much!
