Beavers Bend

Last weekend, we went to Broken Bow, OK for a weekend away at Beavers Bend.  My mom and stepdad, and sister, brother-in-law and nephew Eli joined us as well.  It was supposed to be a relaxing weekend of fishing for the boys, cruising the lake on a boat, etc, but Mother Nature had other plans and it rained most of the time.  Regardless, we still enjoyed our cabin tucked in the woods, the beautiful scenery, and a relaxing couple of days filled with doing nothing.  We did head out to the lake on Saturday and the boys tried their hand at fishing, but it was cold and wet and the fish were hiding way below the surface.  Eli learned all about fishing with his cool Spiderman pole and had a great time casting and reeling it back in.

The southeastern part of the state is gorgeous.  It’s lush and green and hilly- you feel like you’re somewhere else.  Our cabin was fantastic- 3 bedrooms, a big kitchen, cool decks and outdoor spaces, and a hot tub.  Despite the rain, we enjoyed our stay and each other’s company.

  1. Small world – we were between Beavers Bend or Keystone for last weekend – and went to Keystone simply b/c of driving time! Would have been fun to have run in to you guys at the lake.
