Whew!

The past couple of weeks have just flown by.  Well, the whole summer has really.  Last weekend was the 4th and it was a weekend packed full of family, friends, and fun.  Really the entire week was.  We started the weekend before the 4th witha weekend long birthday celebration and farewell for our friend Val.  A pool party on Sunday and some drinks on Monday before she traveled off to Germany for a few weeks.  We enjoyed a night at the Dugout on Wednesday with some music from the Hosty Duo.

Friday was the 4th, and we started the day with the entire fam at the Bethany 4th of July parade.  I’ve been going to this parade since I was a toddler.  Traditions are big to me, so I’m thrilled to contine this one.  Eli came to experience his first parade this year and he loved it.  It was so much fun watching him take it all in.  After the parade was lunch at mom’s house.  Then we went to Lake Hiawasse to watch some fireworks with friends.  Fireworks were going off all night, so it was pretty exciting.  A concert with the Hosty Duo capped off the night.  Saturday brought a catch-up day as we ran errands and did the things we’d been putting off.  Sunday, I traveled to Lawton to spend some time with my friend Lindsay, who was in from NYC.

Monday was so hard to get back in the groove after such a fun week.  But, we’re making it, and can’t believe it’s already almost the end of the week!  Chris has a softball tournament on Saturday, and that’s really the only plans.  After a busy couple of weeks, I’m looking forward to some downtime.

Here’s a pic of the girls and Eli at the parade:
