A massive ice storm has hit Oklahoma. It’s been called the worst ice we’ve ever seen- I heard that 1 in 3 Oklahomans are without power. We’ve been lucky that our power has not gone out at all. We have several friends and family that have lost power, and we’re hoping everyone is staying warm.
We’ve been stuck inside for the past two days. It was fun the first day- we made soup, enjoyed the white stuff outside (which unfortunately is just ice, not snow), took naps, and watched lots of today. My office was closed Monday, and Chris worked from home, so day 2 was a whole lot like day 1- more soup, some movies on TV, and more naps. We’re now suffering from cabin fever!
Cari came over the evening of day 2. Her power is out. So, she brought her pug Sassy over, and we had way too much fun watching Sassy and Owen chase each other around and fight over toys. It was fun to have someone else here. We watched more TV and I brought out the bartending skills. The schools are closed again tomorrow, so we may be going on day 3 stuck inside.
We hope everyone stays warm and safe!
Here are some pics of the ice on our front porch:
Even my mermaid was covered in ice!
